The KLRI (President Kim, Yoo Hwan) held the 3rd Legislative Policy Forum at the Palace Hotel, on 23rd of May.
At the Forum, Justice Lee, Dong Heup, gave a presentation on <The Legislation and the Constitutional Trial>. He offered an in-depth explanation on the <Effect of Sentence> and the <Retroactive Effect> of the decision on unconstitutionality, and reflection of the constitutional court decisions on legislation.
Justice Lee also shared his experiences during his keynote lectures on the Korean constitutional adjudication system in the U.S., Japan, Germany, France, Vietnam, China, and Taiwan.
Last March, the KLRI launched Legislative Policy Forum to provide a discussion panel for experts to discuss legislative processes to becoming one of the ranks of the advanced countries. Up to now, Professor Kwon, Oh Seung (the former director of Fair Trade Commission) from Seoul National University, and Kim Young-Ran, (the former Chairperson of the Anti-Corruption & Civil Rights Commission) were invited as a main presenters. The 4th Legislative Policy Forum will be held on the 21st of June, and main presenter will be Professor Moon, Yong Rin, the former minister of Ministry of Education & Human Resources Development.
