KLRI president presented at the VI Pacific Law Form by Russia’s Far Eastern Federal University

President of Korea Legislation Research Institute, Kye-Hong Kim, made a presentation on ‘Legal Policy Measures of the Republic of Korea to Achieve Carbon Neutrality’ at the Plenary Session of the VI Pacific Law Form (VI PLF) hosted by Russia’s Far Eastern Federal University School of Law (Dean and Director Viacheslav V. GAVRILOV) on October 8 (Fri., at 9 am Korea Time). 
 
The VI PLF was held in a hybrid form of offline and online under the theme of ‘Law, Its Application and Implementation in the Era of Global Challenges and Changing Reality’ and consisted of plenary session and eight breakout sessions. 
 
KLRI president Kim introduced in his presentation Korea's carbon neutrality strategy and related legislative trends. In particular, he expounded the 3+1 strategy (adaptation, opportunity, and fairness + foundation) that supports to achieve a new economic and social structural system  advancing the economy and the quality of life in a sustainable manner through a transition to a carbon-neutral society in accordance with the 2050 Carbon-Neutral Strategy. 
 
Kim said that the climate change can be overcome when the world sets the common goal of carbon neutrality and works together. He concluded his presentation by hoping that collaboration and exchange in policy and law would help achieve carbon-neutrality and overcome challenges from climate crisis for the sake of prosperity of the mankind.
