KLRI : KOREA LEGISLATION RESEARCH INSTITUTE

 

 

Korea Legislation Research Institute (KLRI, President Kye-Hong Kim), Korean Society of Legislation and Politics (KSLP), and the HUFS Law Research Institute (HUFS LRI) held a joint academic conference under the theme of “Public Procurement Market and Regulatory Innovation” at the law center 101 of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies on July 1 (Fri, 1pm).

 

 This event was organized to examine such issues arising from the irrational procurement system as excessive competition or excessive performance evaluation caused by the increase in the number of suppliers, and to discuss resolutions on these issues.

 

In the first session in which Mr. Yong-Hyuk Cho, Head of the Center of Regulatory Legislation Research at Korea Legislation Research Institute served as the moderator, Kyung-Sun Kwon, Academic Research Professor of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies gave his opening speech under the theme of "Research on the Legal Nature of Public Procurement Contracts - Focusing on Case Trends." Dr. Ha-Nee Cho at Hanyang University also addressed her speech on “Eco-Friendly Public Procurement Act in Germany.” The second session was addressed by So-Yeon Kim, Professor of law school of Jeonbuk National University under the theme of “Concrete Measures and Development Direction of SME Support and Promotion through Public Procurement.” with moderating by Wan-Joong Heo, Professor of law school of Jeonnam National University.

 

Kye-Hong Kim, President of Korea Legislation Research Institute spoke that law and institution play a vital role for fostering SMEs in public procurement market, and also stressed, “We hope the reasonable system improvement plan to be discussed to broaden opportunities for small and medium-sized businessmen who own technology without sufficient experience and monetary budget.”
