The Korea Legislation Research Institute (KLRI), led by President Han Young-soo, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the National Radio Research Agency (NRRA) on Tuesday, May 14, at 2:30 PM in the KLRI's conference room. The signing ceremony was attended by Han Young-soo, President of KLRI, Seo Sung-il, Director of NRRA, and nine other representatives from both organizations.
This MOU was initiated to promote information sharing on legislative matters in the radio sector and establish a collaborative network between the two institutions.
Through this agreement, the KLRI and NRRA will actively collaborate in the following areas:
Research on improving regulations in broadcasting and telecommunication laws and administrative rules
Mutual cooperation and information exchange regarding the framework and innovation of broadcasting and telecommunication laws
Improvements to conformity assessment systems for broadcasting and telecommunication equipment
The KLRI anticipates that its ongoing study, "Developing a Strategy for Introducing Technology Standards Impact Assessment Systems," conducted in collaboration with the NRRA, will create a synergy effect in legislative research in the broadcasting and telecommunication sectors. This research was initiated in response to the increasing need for advanced systems for technical standards in specialized fields, in line with the emergence of new technologies.
Han Young-soo, President of KLRI, stated, “With this agreement, I hope for close collaboration between the two organizations, as the technical standards for radio are closely tied to the development of new technologies and require proactive consideration.”
Meanwhile, the KLRI is conducting regulatory legislative research under the theme "New Growth 4.0 Strategy - New Technology, New Life, New Market" to support the government's regulatory innovation infrastructure.
