The 44th Legislative Policy Forum was held with the honorable guest speaker Yeon-Myeong Kim, former Presidential Secretary for Social Affairs

Korea Legislation Research Institute (KLRI) (President Kye-Hong Kim) invited Professor Yeon-Myeong Kim at Chung-Ang University (former Presidential Secretary for Social Affairs) as guest speaker of the 44th Legislative Policy Forum which was held on May 24 (Mon., at 4pm). He spoke under the theme of ‘Achievements and Challenges of the Inclusion Policy of the Moon Jae In Government’, which was broadcast live on the KLRI’s Youtube Channel. 
 
KLRI President Kim said, “The accurate analysis and recommendations on the current government's policies will contribute to the development of legislative policy and also to the selection of research subjects by the KLRI researchers.”
 
The former Presidential Secretary for Social Affairs presented on the need for inclusion policy and the overview of the social safety nets of the current government including employment, income, medical and daycare, and preventive medical system. He then presented on the challenges and tasks in policy and legislation. 
He particularly stressed out the overhaul of the laws and policy in order for stabilizing labor situation and introducing accident and sickness benefits for the vulnerable after COVID-19 as well as improving the public health care system. 
 
QnA session was followed the presentation, in which participants vigorously discussed on the effectiveness of the small business support policy, the mandatory employment insurance for special employment workers, and the New Deal policy of the US.
 
KLRI has been hosting the Legislative Policy Forum where experts from various fields are invited to share legislative achievements and discover new legislative tasks. Previous speakers invited include former Chairperson of National Assembly Sye-Kyun Chung, former Minister of Government Legislation Hyung-Yeon Kim, and Minister of Food and Drug Safety (MFDA) Gang-lip Kim.
