KLRI held the 2nd Global Forum on Climate Change Law and Institutions
 
 
Korea Legislation Research Institute (KLRI, President Kye-Hong Kim) held the 2nd Global Forum on Climate Change Law and Institutions under the theme of “Current Issues of Green ODA” at the seminar room of Centennial Memorial Samsung Hall of Korea University on July 28. (Thu, 9:30 a.m)
  
Co-hosed by the Center for International Development of Korean Development Institute (KDI), the forum was held with around 50 experts in the environment sectors including academia, researchers and the government officials, broadcasted online through the KLRI’s Youtube channel.
 
The forum was proceeded in the form of panel discussion to find out resolutions to minimize the environmental problems caused by the development of the developing countries as well as to establish environmental infrastructure which is decent for developing countries. 
 
Starting with the opening speech of Kye-Hong Kim, the KLRI President , welcoming speech of Young-Seon Ko, Vice President of the KDI’s Research Division and Jong-Ho Park, Advisory consultant of CSDLAP and the congratulatory speech of Michael Reiffenstuel, German ambassador to Korea and Dong-Woon Ro, President of the Korean Society of Climate Change Research(KSCCR) were orderly followed. In the panel discussion I, Jun-Won Hyon, KLRI Senior research fellow , Jeong-Wook Kim, Head of the Center of International Development at KDI, and Yeon-Su Lee, Head of the Department of Climate Crisis and Pandemic Response at Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) attended and had a heated discussion on the “Current Issues of Green ODA in Korea.” 
 
The KLRI President, Kye-Hong Kim said, “Green ODA is solidifying its position as a resolution to minimize environmental issues which inevitably arise from the development process of developing countries” and stressed, “I hope that various measures to realize Green ODA as well as to create sustainable future to be discussed in this forum.”
 
Meanwhile, KLRI has been establishing the mid and long-term legislative strategy for realizing a carbon neutral society by 2050, as well as conducting a wide range of research to suggest future legislative solutions for coping with the climate crisis.
