The event, which is attended by domestic and foreign experts in the field of digital finance was organized to explore the latest global trends in business regulations and consumer protection following the digitalization of finance and seek countermeasures.

The conference consists of overall 3 sessions, with speeches and discussions on ▲New EU consumer protection rules for online finance service, ▲International discussion and trends – focusing on the digitalization of finance and combination with Big Tech, ▲Necessity and directions of financial regulation on Big Tech.

KLRI President, Kye-Hong Kim said, “digitalization of finance has some degree of weak points in terms of finance market’s stability, fair competition, and consumer protection, though having positive effects such as increasing work efficiency and convenience”, adding that the conference would be the forum to find out directions for the sound legal policies on digital finance which has been accelerating since COVID-19.

Meanwhile, KLRI has been conducting a research named 「Trends and Implications of Global Norms on Digitalization of Finance after COVID-19」 ,which is in part of Global Legislative Strategy Research Project, to collect the legal trends of international institutions and major countries on digitalization of finance and provide domestic legal policy measures.
