KLRI and KES jointly held an academic conference

Korea Legislation Research Institute (KLRI, President Kye-Hong Kim) and Korean Energy Society (KES, President Jong-Young Lee) jointly held an academic conference under the theme of “Energy Law Policy and Regulation in the Era of Crisis in Energy Supply Chain at the press conference room(19F) of Korea Press Center on August 30 (Tue).
 
This conference was organized as a forum to discuss the effective regulatory measures responding to the crisis in global supply chain, and over 70 experts attended along with Kye-Hong Kim, President of KLRI, Il-Jun Park, 2nd Vice Minister of Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and Dong-Hee Jung. Chairman of Korea Power Exchange.
 
At the conference, overall 3 subjects were presented and discussed including ▲Legal issues and tasks related to licensing regulation of nuclear power plant, ▲Legislative research on reorganization of supply chain for strengthening economic security, ▲Legal task for establishing electricity market price and governance based on the principles of free competition and market economy.
 
KLRI President Kye-Hong Kim said, “The government has been making various policy efforts to preemptively tackle the uncertainties in global resource supply and demand”, adding that effective legislative improvement plans in the field of scientific technology and economic security will be robustly discussed aligned with the policy direction of the government.
 
Meanwhile, KLRI has been conducting legislative research to provide legal support for regulatory innovation on the major industries which are the driving force to strengthen the national competency.
