KLRI : KOREA LEGISLATION RESEARCH INSTITUTE

 

Korea Legislation Research Institute (KLRI, President Yeoung-Soo Han) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for sharing overseas legislative information jointly with the Ministry of Government Legislation (MOLEG, Minister Wan-Kyu Lee) and the National Assembly Library (NAL, Chief Librarian Myung-Woo Lee) in Sejong, Best Western on May 11.

 

Under the agreement, overseas legislative information refers to the original and translated versions of laws and regulations of foreign countries and international organizations. Based on this agreement, KLRI will share its research papers on global legislative issues, trend of international legal norms, and the latest foreign legislative information. The Ministry of Government Legislation will provide legislative information particularly on trade and investment, while National Assembly Library will provide translated foreign laws and legislative information of advanced countries such as the US and European countries.

  

According to the MoU, the three organizations decided to actively cooperate in areas of ▲ provision and sharing of overseas legislative information and ▲ establishment and operation of a cooperative system for providing overseas legislative information to each other. 

  

KLRI President Yeoung-Soo Han said, “KLRI has published research papers that collect and analyze the trend of overseas law and policies by different sector in order to contribute to the development of national legislation and policy.” He continued saying, “With this MOU, we will closely cooperate in providing more diverse legislative information of foreign countries for more efficient use of such valuable information.”

 

Meanwhile, KLRI established a network with experts from overseas research institutions and international organizations to collect legislative information of major foreign countries and to provide consumer-oriented services in a timely manner.
