KLRI held the 57th Legislative Policy Forum

Korea Legislation Research Institute (KLRI, President Yeongsoo Han) held the 57th Legislative Policy Forum under the theme of ‘The Role of Policy for Realizing an Artificial Intelligence Society’ at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas Rose Room (5F) on September 18 (Mon.) with Jong-sung Hwang, Director of National Intelligence Society Agency (NIA) as a presenter.
Director Hwang spoke on the legislative issues of AI based on his experiences of leading the preemptive legislative research for promoting the AI industry and reliability. He also proposed ideas of legislative improvement for AI.
Director Hwang suggested various ways of promoting the AI industry by emphasizing ▲ raising awareness of AI and securing public support ▲ early enactment of the Framework Act on Artificial Intelligence (tent.), and ▲ creating an environment for effective sandboxes and policy research.
Meanwhile, KLRI holds Legislative Policy Forum and invites experts from various fields to share legislative achievements and discover new legislative agenda. Previous invitees include Justice of Supreme Court Cheol-sang Ahn, Minister of Government Legislation Wan-kyu Lee, and Administrator of Rural Development Administration Jae-ho Cho.
