KLRI Held the 58th Legislative Policy Forum

Korea Legislation Research Institute (KLRI, President Yeong-soo Han) held the 58th Legislative Policy Forum under the theme of ‘The Rule by Law and the Rule of Law’ at the KLRI’s conference room in Sejong on November 21 (Tue.) with the invited speaker Jin-wook Kim, Chief Prosecutor of the Corruption Investigation Office For High-Ranking Officials (hereinafter referred to as Chief Prosecutor of CIO).
Chief Prosecutor of CIO Kim emphasized on the Rule of Law, not the Rule by Law, and explained the history of the criminal justice system. In addition, he gave a presentation on the purposes that laws pursue and the realization of justice.
In particular, the Chief Prosecutor unfolded his experience of studying at a Graduate School of Interpretation and Translation and made comments on the translation provided by KLRI’s Legal Translation Center.
Meanwhile, KLRI continues holding the Legislative Policy Forum as a forum of sharing legislative achievements and developing new legislative agenda with invited experts from a range of fields. The previous invitees including Minister of Government Legislation Wan-kyu Lee, Supreme Court Justice Cheol-sang Ahn, and Mayor of Sejong City Min-ho Choi have made impressive presentations under various topics.
