KLRI Held Academic Conference for 29th Anniversary of Opening

The Korea Legislation Research Institute (President: Rhee Ik Hyeon) held an academic conference for the 29th anniversary of its foundation under the theme of “Policy and Legislation for Enhancing Economic Vitality and Building Social Safety Net” at the Melon Hall of the EL Tower from 1 pm on June 28th (Friday).
 
The academic conference was aimed at discussing policy options to invigorate the economy, to build a social safety net amid the diversifying working patterns and the ageing society, and to seek legislative measures to address such issues. 
 
In the academic conference, divided into two Sessions, legislative policies and measures on reform of legislation for enhancing economic vitality; and legislative policies and measures on reform of legislation for building a social safety net were presented and debated. 
 
In Session I, Yoon Seok Jin, professor of the Kangnam University and Han Joung Mi, member of the KLRI gave presentations on “Legislative Policies and Measures on Reform of Legislation for Settling Deregulation such as the Regulatory Sandbox” and “Legislative Policies and Measures on Reform of Legislation for Establishing Entrepreneurial Ecosystem”, respectively.
 
Wang Seung Hye, member of the KLRI, gave her presentation on “Legislative Policies and Measures on Reform of Legislation for Building a Social Safety Net in a Super-Aged Society,” followed by presentation on “Trends and Tasks of Labor Law and Social Security” by Noh Sang Heon, professor of the University of Seoul.
  
President Rhee of the KLRI said, “It also becomes our challenge for us as researchers of legislation and laws to build a social safety net for the extended areas and the neglected parts such as non-marriage and an aging society that the law should protect,”and continued, “We will try to find the correct reform direction of the relevant legal system in this academic conference.”
